Membership of the British Section of the Association is open to all serving and retired (on full or medical pension) members of any civil Police Service.
Ordinary membership shall be open to:
a) any serving or retired police officer of the Police Services
b) members of Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary
c) serving members of the Special Constabulary of the Police Services and members of the Special Constabulary who have resigned on reaching age limit or on health grounds.
d) any other serving or retired police officer of a Police Service whose application is approved by the National Council.

Associate Membership may be granted to a serving or retired police officer of a Police Service where Sections of the Association do not yet exist.
