Youth Holiday Programme & Adult Exchanges

For the purpose of the Youth Holiday Programme, the International Cultural Commission of IPA specify the youth must have an IPA parent or grandparent, ought to be between the age of 15 - 19 years or in the case of a college student up to the age of 22 years.  Where the applicant is under the age of 15, the Youth Exchange programme is a matter for the parents involved.  Contact details of applicants falling in the above category of 'Youth' will not be published.

Accommodation, House Rental or Exchange

Lisa Ziehm, 23 year old daughter of a member from Section Germany, has been awarded an internship on the EU-Erasmus-Program and will be the first student from North Germany to study in London. Tom Bryans, a member from Northern Ireland, has secured a shot term contract of employment in Glasgow at the airport during the Month of July around the time of the Commonwealth Games, however the employer does not provide

IPA member, Paul Brooks, is involved with North West Blood Bikes Lancs & Lakes, a charity which helps the NHS save money by transporting Blood etc on motorcycles out of normal hours for FREE. This charity is joining forces with the Leukaemia Charity and three bikers, in August, are going to set off from Blackpool and ride around the coast of the UK (4,700 miles approximately) calling in at some of the Leukaemia hospitals on the way.

Career Development

Lukas Hofmann is the son of German IPA members and a law student. As part of his studies he has to complete three weeks’ work experience in the UK – covering criminal law, police law and the police function. He is available during September. Miscellaneous Requests

The Section UK Defensive Tactics Group are in need of assistance with two officers from Malta who are flying in to Bournemouth airport and are in need of help with transport and accommodation. Juan Alcalá, from Section Spain - Sitges, near Barcelona, is looking for an au pair next summer, for 1 month, as they are wanting to improve their English. The family is offering 80 euros a week, full board accommodation in a single room, internet connection, plenty of time off to enjoy the beach, mountains and delicious spanish food. We had a similar experience for the last 2 years. We had an au pair for two summers, from North of Ireland. Her father is a member of IPA, too. She is a lovely girl and the experience with her was fantastic! But unfortunately, she can't return because she is working full time.

The 14 year old daughter, of a member from Section Greece, is to attend maudsley Hospital, London. The child will stay there for long time and she will attend the Greek High school of London.
