Representatives of the International Police Association (IPA) and the World Police and Fire Games (WPFG) met recently to discuss arrangements for the Games when they come to Northern Ireland in August 2013.
The International Police Association is in sponsorship negotiations and the National Executive of Section UK is working with key IPA members at international level on plans for IPA involvement at the event. Mark Kernohan, Vice President, Section UK; Billy Saunderson, International Social Commission, and Stephen Crockard, Assistant International Secretary General met with Tim Craig at the end of January. Mark said, “the initial meeting was to let the WPFG know what IPA could do and to find out what opportunities there may be for IPA members. Billy, Stephen and I will report back to IPA's international board and we expect to learn more in the months to come”.
In the meantime, Section UK is planning ahead to produce commemorative items unique to IPA Section UK and the WPFG 2013. Section UK invites its members to send in logo design ideas, suitable for reproduction on pin badges, cups, etc.
