IPA, Section UK, Photography Competition 2012

Section UK of the International Police Association (IPA) invites you to enter their photography / calendar competition. A 2014 desk top calendar, encapsulating images from the entries submitted, will be available from May 2013. Closing date is 31 December, 2012. Prizes will be awarded.

Adults may submit up to two photographs per category that they are eligible to enter. Children, under 16 years at the closing date, may only enter the children’s category. From the entries submitted a selection will be chosen for inclusion in the calendar.

There are six categories to enter:

A. International Police Association

B. Police

C. Portraits

D. Landscapes

E. Open

F. Children’s (under 16 years) – open topic

 

Prizes:

The overall winner will receive a £100 gift voucher and the runner up a £50 gift voucher.

The winner in each category will receive a £40 gift voucher.

Finalists will each receive a certificate and a complementary calendar.

 

How to enter:

Please ensure each entry is clearly labelled with the category you are entering. Also include your entry title and the location of photograph, your name, address, telephone number, email, your IPA membership number or if a member of their family, their IPA membership number and / or Police Service details. If under 16, include your year of birth. You must be either an IPA member or related to an IPA member or be a Police Service employee.

Rules:

F. Children’s (under 16 years) – Open category: Children can submit a maximum of two photographs in the Children’s category which has no restriction on the subject:

2. JPEG digital images should be submitted by email to photography@ipa-uk.org Each image should not exceed 6MB in size.

3. Images must be the original work of the entrant and may not be enhanced.

4. Adults can submit a maximum of two photographs in any of the five categories: 1) International Police Association; 2) Police; 3) Portraits; 4) Landscapes; 5) Open.

5. Children (under 16 years at closing date) can submit a maximum of two photographs in the Children’s category which has no restriction on the subject. Year of birth has to be included.

6. The closing date of the competition is 31st December 2012

7. All entries are sent at the photographer’s risk and IPA Section UK cannot accept liability for loss or damage. Entries will not be returned to entrants.

8. Postal entries will not be accepted.

9. Entrants must be the sole author and owner of copyright for all images entered.

10. Copyright of all images submitted for this competition remains with the respective entrants. Where an image is used by the IPA, the photographer will be credited. However, in consideration of entering the competition, each entrant grants International Police Association a licence to feature competition images in any promotional material. No fee will be paid to entrants.

11. The competition is open to members of the International Police Association, their families and employees of any Police Service.

12. Winners will be notified by May 2013. Prizes will be awarded in the form of Gift Vouchers (£ sterling)

13. International Police Association Section UK reserves the right to cancel this competition or alter any of the rules, if necessary.

14. The decision of the judges is final.
