New IPA House in Colchester
10 Region have finalised plans for a new IPA House in Colchester, Essex. This apartment is situated in a privately owned secure block with stunning views over Colchester Park.
Colchester, in Essex, is Britain's oldest recorded town and once capital of Roman Britain. Colchester today is a thriving, modern town with many great visitor attractions, which include: Colchester zoo, Colchester castle, Roman sites, award winning museums and many pubs, bars, theatres and churches. IPA Houses Worldwide

IPA now has over 40 properties worldwide where members can stay in reasonably priced accommodation. The idea behind IPA Houses originated in Germany and followed on from the founding of IBZ Castle Gimborn in 1969. Today there are IPA Houses across the globe, from Australia to South Africa, Israel to Great Britain - the concept is still developing with more Houses being opened each year. According to reports received from Sections, more than 30,000 people are accommodated in IPA Houses during an average year.

IPA House Strategy – Section UK
1. British Section NEC adopts a 5 year strategy for 5 IPA Houses in 5 years commencing 1st January 2009.
2. Appoints a VP to be responsible for taking Strategy forward.
3. The VP appointed to provide a written update to each NEC meeting for information.
4. VP to visit Regional committees if required after providing them with a paper on the workings of IPA Houses internationally and how this strategy works
5. IPA Houses to be managed in accordance with International rules with local adjustments if required.
6. VP responsible to conduct feasibility studies with various regions into suitable house locations.
7. British section NEC Strategy is for this 5 year period that houses are initially rented for between 12-24 months to ascertain feasibility.
8. British Section NEC undertakes to support regions financially to the amount of 50% of any loss made with 20% of any profit returning to national for other House programmes.
9. This strategy stands alone and does not include any strategy which may be developed for Fox Road
